Gareth Edwards – Live at Fairfield House
“Messages of laughter, light, belief and hope, that we all need to embrace our wonderfully imperfect selves.” Dan Allan | Nelson Fringe Festival
My intention for our time together is to balance some of life’s toughness with a little joy, hope and connection.
(And a cup of tea).
Most of my songs have (100% optional) ’joining in’ bits if you like that kind of thing. And I’ll share some stories and a couple of things I’ve found that can help us feel a bit more ok about ourselves.
(The tea bit is in the middle of it all).
It’s what I imagine we used to do round the campfire most nights after a hard week hunting and gathering. Before smart phones, social media and TV-on-demand fulfilled our soul’s deepest desires.
(Bring your favourite tea cup if you like).
Dress code: cosy and comfortable – PJs and slippers welcome.
“You’ll enjoy his take on life, love and happiness. You probably haven’t heard anything like this in a while.”
Graham Reid | Elsewhere Magazine
Gareth Edwards is no stranger to a stage and has featured at times in his life on TV, radio, newspaper and in one man shows. Nelsonians may remember him from his Nelson Fringe Show ‘Mad Love’ that won Best of Fringe and Best Solo Show awards and his infamous laughter yoga workshops at Evolve and Luminate.
Gareth is a passionate advocate for all that makes us feel good about ourselves and our place in the world. He draws on his own journey after being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in his mid 20s and a mental health career as a government advisor, university researcher and service designer.
Gareth is well loved for his ability to take you out of the every day hustle and bustle so you remember that life is not too bad and neither are you.
