COUNTRY TUI FINALIST TO PLAY FAIRFIELD HOUSE – NELSON
After a nomination for Recorded Music NZ Country Artist of the Year, Jenny Mitchell is proud to announce 13 NZ shows that will form The Troubadour Tour. On June 28th her tour will be stopping into Nelson’s iconic music venue – Fairfield House.
With songs wrapped in wisdom & wit, the show will take each listener through a journey of the bittersweet tang of leaving home, the fragility of first love & the importance of family.
Sponsored by GWD Motor Group, audiences can expect heartbreakingly honest songs and a few R rolls.
After touring through the coast of Sweden, dozens of Irish pubs and countless Australian towns, it’s time for Jenny to hit the road in her homeland.
“It feels like the right time to hit the road here in NZ & I can’t wait to share my music with audiences all around our beautiful country.”
Hailing from Gore and influenced by the likes of Norah Jones and Gillian Welch, Jenny is a songwriter that blends alt-country, folk, and Americana into her own captivating style.
The tour is named after track 10 from her Tui nominated album Wildfires. The record was produced by award winning producer Matt Fell and independently released in October 2018. Troubadour is a consistent crowd favourite and was initially inspired by fellow kiwi songwriter – Adam McGrath (The Eastern).
“I opened a show for Adam when I was about 13 & I have this conversation etched in my mind about how he’d been on the road for years & I couldn’t understand how anyone could do that! Little did I know I’d catch the travel bug shortly afterwards.”
“I reckon Troubadour is going to be a huge song for you,” Jesse Mulligan (RNZ)
