We want to share traditional craft practices that will provide you with new skills and a new relationship with local materials and the resources that are around you.\n\nLearn to make a hand brush using locally sourced wood and fibre.\nMake a useful hearth style hand brush using locally sourced wood and fibre. Practical to hold\, this sturdy brush can be used to tidy up many spaces\, from the workbench to the floor to your vehicle. Skills learnt in this workshop include fibre preparation and cord making using tī kōuka. A hazel wood handle is provided to fix the fibres into. Starting by making a very fine tī kōuka cord using a European twining technique\, this workshop also teaches skills in fibre preparation and extraction\, basic hole drilling\, and a useful lashing technique. SUMMARY:Leigham Fitzpatrick & Hyram Twang
DESCRIPTION:Leigham and Hyram come from different times\, different places and different musical backgrounds but have found themselves on the same path influencing each other’s songwriting and musical direction. In this show they will perform separately and together\, playing their original songs and covers that have influenced both of their musical personas. \nLeigham is a Dunedin based singer/songwriter\, heavily influenced by the likes of Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave. Their unusual guitar style combines alternative tunings\, wacky capos and a self taught technique\, while their lyrics tell stories from their short but exciting life. \nHyram is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose songs and song choices are heavily influenced by his Southern California roots. \nDoors open 7pm \nShow starts 7:30pm \nTickets from UTR HERE for $15 \n
