Scottish born urban folk blues Celtic Soul singer songwriter Isabella(Izzy) Miller Bell Aka Ma Bell returns to Tasman/Nelson Communities to tell her story of the blues under a Celtic Moon.

In this concert Ma Bell dons the mantle of Madame Tragedie, drawing upon her Celtic Connections to tell her story of the blues. A story which began in 1949 in a council housing estate in the once Clydeside shipbuilding town of Greenock in Scotland. The Programme:

With songs and tall tales from the earthly gardens of temptation and delight, down through the ages into the mean streets of Glasgow, Madame Tragèdie tells her story of the blues. You can expect a program of stirring classic Celtic airs and superb acoustic jazz blues alongside a preview of original composition earmarked for a forthcoming album entitled Glory Road.

Izzy will be accompanied by two of the South’s finest jazz blues musicians/composers featuring John Bevin on piano/vocals alongside Michael Kime on upright bass and pop in surprise guests.
